Will I get to fly the airplane? Yes, indeed. Each flight is conducted under the supervision of an FAA Certified Flight Instructor. You will get a pre-flight briefing on the ground and you will be able to fly as much as you like during the flight. The instructor will do the takeoff and landing. The instructor is there to teach you.
Do these flights count towards the requirements for pilot certificates? Yes they do. Each flight counts as a flight lesson and can be logged in your flight logbook. If you already have a logbook, bring it along, otherwise they can be purchased from us.
Do I need to tip the instructor? Tipping is not required but if you like your flight and feel the instructor did a great job, gratuities are definitely appreciated.
Is it safe? While there is no activity without some risk, the record shows that flying small general aviation airplanes may be less risky than riding motorcycles and more than a typical car journey.
What happens if the weather is bad? Call us and we will reschedule. There is no penalty for rescheduling because of bad weather. But make sure you contact us if we haven't contacted you. Sometimes the weather in San Jose is great while it may be bad where you live. Please do not just fail to turn up or your certificate will be cancelled.
Can I change the date or time of my flight? Yes you can. Up to 48 hrs prior to the flight you can change anything with no additional cost. We reserve the right to charge a fee if you wish to change less than 48 hrs prior to your flight.
Do you do any other sort of flight? Yes, just contact us. We can tailor your flight to your desires.
Can you take us to someplace else (Tahoe, or wherever)? No, sorry. That is the domain of charter (or air-taxi) services.
