Instrument Rating Ground School !
Receive a rebate of up to $200 when you train with us!
We are taking names! We are planning to start a new Instrument Ground School one evening a week, when we have enough names. If you are interested in attending a session of our popular Instrument Rating Ground School now is the time to let us know. This ground school will prepare you for the Instrument Rating written test. If interested, enrollment is NOW!
Your instructor will be Erik Schmidt.
CFI, CFII, MEI, Aerobatics
A patient yet demanding instructor, Erik began his flying career in US Navy Aviation where his first flight was aerobatics in a T34C. He's been avoiding straight and level flight ever since. Much of Erik's flying has been in Alaska and the upper Midwest in a variety of good aircraft and bad weather. Erik received his tailwheel endorsement in a Pitts S2B at the Sean Tucker Aerobatics School, but he also has many hours in Extras, Decathlons and bush planes like the Piper Cub and Cessna 185. In addition, Erik has lots of "Glass Cockpit" experience and is factory certified to teach in Rolls Royce Turbines. Erik loves to instruct and can take you from Private through to Multi-Engine. He will teach you the mechanics and the practical application of theory safely and efficiently.

The IFR school will take place over 10 Monday evenings - one per week - starting at 6:30pm. Do come and talk to Erik Schmidt about the course, including discussing books and materials you may need. The school teaches you the information you will need not just to pass pass the knowledge test but also to fly safely in the instrument environment. Some homework, in the form of extra reading is required. The timetable and curriculum are shown below.
Cost is $250.00 for the complete course. Block members are eligible for 10% credit on our usual terms. Materials not included.
We can sell you the texts you need. The most complete package is the Gleim Instrument Pilot Kit (with the FAA test prep software) for $159, including tax and shipping costs, a saving of almost $20 compared to buying online from Gleim.
EAA members save $5 off the cost of their knowledge test at Lasergrade. For details see: http://www.lasergrade.com/EAA.shtml
How does the rebate work? If you sign up for flight traning too and deposit $500 or more, we will add $100 to your account. When you complete your training with us, are ready for your checkride and receive your checkride endorsement from one of our CFIs, you will receive an additional $100 on your account.
