Don’t let the fog or clouds stop you from flying. Learn to fly the airplane, and find your destination runway, with no visibility outside. We offer instrument flight training and can train you in our Cessna 172, 172RG, simulators and/or your own airplane.

We can train you in the latest GPS techniques too - we have airplanes equipped with the Garmin 430/530 and GNS650 GPS navigators.

The San Francisco Bay Area is very well suited to instrument flight training. We frequently have low lying cloud and fog layers nearby to train in, yet our airport (San Jose, Reid Hillview - KRHV) is VFR almost all the time.

Prerequisite: Private Pilot Certificate with 50 hrs pilot in command cross-country flight. Medical: Class I, II, or III

Time: Minimum of 40 hrs instrument time including one 250 nautical mile dual cross-country trip, and additional requirements as per FAR 61.65. *

Cost: Approximately $8000-$9000

We recommend our Instrument Rating Ground School to prepare you for the knowledge test. We'll even rebate you up to $200 towards your flight training!

Prices and rates are subject to change without notice. All training and rentals are subject to the terms and conditions in the Renters' Agreement.
