History: Terry D. Norbraten began instruction for private pilot 28 JUN 1994. He soloed in 17.7 hours in a C-150M in Chesapeake, VA, where he was stationed for his undergraduate work. Shortly after earning his private certificate, he had to put flying on hold to finish out his career in the U.S. Navy. In the summer of 2007, he picked up flying again at the Monterey Navy Flying Club so that he could be checked out in the club’s T-34B (D-45) Beechcraft Mentor. In August of 2009 he earned his instrument rating.
In the fall of 2014, using his Post-911 GI bill benefits, he began commercial multi-engine training and earned his rating the following year. In the fall of 2017 he earned his single-engine commercial add-on certificate and in the spring of 2018, he earned his single-engine CFI certificate.
Terry has high-performance/complex and tailwheel endorsements (he earned tailwheel at Aerodynamic MRY). He has flown single-engine turbo-prop and twin-engine turbine jets and now flies for WestAir, Inc. out of Fresno in the C-208B Grand Caravan as a FedEx feeder pilot. Terry enjoys flying formation aerobatics and occasionally gets to pilot a Lanciar Legacy with a 310HP Continental engine that trues out at 240 KTS. Helping those driven to achieve their aviation dreams is a pleasure and an honor!
